A scheme to renovate and extend an Arts and Crafts movement 1907 semi detached house to provide a 4 bedroom contemporary home respecting the context of the Chorltonville garden suburb. The extension to the back of the property allowed an open plan area to be created, with generous kitchen, on the ground floor and the additional bedroom above. The master bedroom’s mezzanine and staircase were incorporated to provide a dressing room. Much thought was given to upgrade the thermal performance, allowing the dwelling to reach “Super Home” status while respecting its age and origins.
